Happy October

monster-and-pencilTomorrow (Tuesday) is our spelling test. The students will be bringing home a spelling preview for you to study. There will be dictation in the spelling test as well.

In math, we are continuing to compare numbers, form combinations, and are solving word problems daily.

Guided reading is in full swing. I will be meeting with 10-12 kids a day. Those kids will bring home new books. The others might bring home a book they have already read with you. Please reread these books for fluency and please practice expression and phrasing when reading.

In writing, we are writing our class Halloween story! We are practicing using capitals, periods, and spelling our spelling words correctly. Also we are going to use details in our writing. 🙂

In science we are learning about nocturnal animals and facts about different types of spiders and bats. A lot of kids had stories about animals they have seen at night.

Wednesday is an early release day. Kids will be dismissed at 11:30. The teachers will stay and be working there remainder of the day. Please make arrangements for your kids dismissal and send any transportation changes in the planner.

Friday I will be and a sub will be in the room.

Thanks for all that you do!

Study!
