Upcoming Week

February 18-21

Thanks to all parents that helped out with the Valentine’s Day party!!! If you came, you saw all the effects of sugar and excitement! I am so glad I have a great group of parents that can help the kiddos have lasting memories and a good time!

Another 6 week grading period is over and report cards will be going out soon.

We will be starting a new group of spelling words (10). These are the first 5 for this week:

  • no
  • make
  • than
  • first
  • been

In math we are going to continue measurement, word problems, addition and subtraction, and introduction to telling time. The kids enjoyed measuring length with their own steps, along with baby steps and basketball players’ steps. They’ve also learned vocabulary words such as length, distance, and inch.

Students will have their same library book until next week because of the President’s Day holiday. They will need to keep reading every night. They can choose a book from home in addition to one I have sent home. If they bring a book home from the library  that is too complicated, read with them or to them because it is one they chose from interest.

We will continue to work on contractions and review from earlier skills learned throughout the year along with plot, characters, retelling, details, and research.

In writing, we will work on staying on topic, creating a story with beginning, middle, and end, and forming letters correctly.

Have a great week! If you have any questions, feel free to call or email me!
